Hello LD 7!

I'm excited to announce my campaign for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 7! I'm Sam Martin, and I live at the southern end of LD7 in Oracle.

I want to start off by saying that local issues will be at the heart of my campaign. Small Town Arizona, I want you to have good jobs and healthcare where you live, to have clean water and air, safe food and roads and schools, and government that serves your needs.

But the truth is, this season, the chaos in DC is going to overshadow everything, including local issues. We can't talk about health without talking about the ruinous cost increases Congress Republicans have inflicted on Arizonans, we can't talk about jobs without talking about tariffs, and we can't talk about government without talking about the President.

That's why I am starting off by announcing my first endorsement: I've pledged to support the U.S. Term Limits Amendment.

State legislatures, according to the Constitution, may petition Congress to hold a constitutional convention for the purpose of amending the Constitution. Although Congress isn't compelled to act, legislation like this would send a signal that Arizona is ready to fulfill it's role in the amendment process by ratifying the U.S. Term Limits Amendment.

Now, make no mistake, my campaign will still be centered on kitchen tables in rural Arizona. In the coming months I intend to travel all over the district, and I look forward to hearing from all of you about what you need from government.

I also look forward to working with you on the coming campaign. We all know the numbers aren't on our side in LD7, but I don't believe the numbers are telling the whole story. I believe, especially this year, that strong grassroots campaigns can flip seats, even in places as red as this, because what we all have in common is that we want a better life for ourselves and the next generation. Together we can make that life possible and build a better Arizona.
